• Responsible for running the lighting department in these key areas:

• Managed lighting crew in Montreal for around 5 years, providing strategies, guidance and support to deliver projects.
• Contributed to deliver +20 shows while overseeing a team of 50 artists that went up to 200 artists at the studio’s peak.
• Involved on recruiting and casting talent for running and future shows, conducting interviews, assessing artists’ level and carrying out performance evaluations.
• Worked closely with supervisors, production and leads to ensure we meet show requirements in both creative and technical aspects.

• Developed scripts to scatter hundreds of lights on vehicles and street light fixtures with control for intensity and temperature. IBL lighting setup using gobos and IES profiles.

Ollin VFX

• I had the privilege of co-founding one of the first Animation and Visual Effects companies in Mexico City called Ollin Studio (later named Ollin VFX).
• Contributed to the company’s growth by helping deliver dozens of TV ads and feature films in Mexico and the US.
• Specialized in different CG disciplines over the years.

• TV Advertisement :

  I developed my skills in modeling and texturing characters, environments and props. I also worked on rigging, skinning, CFX (cloth and hair) and a bit of Animation. I spent good time developing fluid simulations, rigid and soft-body dynamics as well as look development, lighting and compositing.

• Film :

  I had the opportunity to master my skills in CG while I explored new ones like Match-move, roto animation and scripting. For The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I was responsible for pyro FX to enhance practical explosions including volumetrics, debris, trace bullets and mortars. I also worked on cloth and flesh being ripped by bullets and debris in one of the war shots going in reverse.
• Responsible for delivering multiple film projects during a period of 5 years with a small crew, limited resources and tight schedules.
• Successfully completed more than 500 VFX shots on films like TRON Legacy, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, among others.
• Developed the pipeline for stereo Match-move and Roto-Animation. This was used in multiple shows.
• Helped define creative requirements on projects and implementing discipline workflows in CG.
• Worked closely with Production to assess the scope of work on projects, resources, schedules and deliveries, artists assignments and software licenses.
• On-set supervision for Episodic work and TV projects. Working closely with DPs and On-set coordination to collect live-action footage for the VFX team.
